Designing Luxury Kitchens with Monogram Appliances

One of our favorite partners in design, Monogram is no stranger to the show house experience. They participated in Dallas’ inaugural Kips Bay Show House last year, and in 2018 were instrumental in helping us open our first show house, Boulevard. Their appliances were the ideal addition to Laura’s renovated kitchen at Boulevard. From the vent hood to the wine cooler, Laura selected a complete suite of Monogram appliances and designed her kitchen around them.

Fast forward three years and we are thrilled to be once again working alongside Monogram, this time as our presenting partner for the Mountain Lane Show House (MLSH), located in the much coveted resort town of Snowmass Village, CO.

We sat down with Monogram to discuss their role in the show house, Laura’s selections, and to learn more about their intelligent appliances that are built to embrace your kitchen, cuisine, and beyond.

A Conversation with Monogram

Laura U Design Collective (LUDC): We’re thrilled to be working with your team again, Alex. Tell us about your role in the Mountain Lane Show House project and what products you will be installing in the home?

Monogram (M): Thank you! Monogram Luxury Appliances is thrilled to be the premier sponsor of the Mountain Lane Show House. We absolutely love working with Laura and your team – we both are highly collaborative and strive to bring an elevated sense of luxury to the homes we work on. We’re super excited to be a part of this show house in particular, which is going to showcase many of our newest appliances in one of the most beautiful places in the country. We will be installing our beautiful Statement Collection which has subtle brass accents and a timeless aesthetic, all while keeping some of our favorite kitchen features. From this collection, we will install the smart five in one wall oven, smart integrated column refrigerator and freezer, the smart fully integrated dishwasher, and a custom brass hood. Additionally, this year we launched a new range collection and Laura will be installing the 48” professional range along with our new 30” fully integrated wine entertaining unit. All perfect for Laura to entertain family and guest after a long day of skiing!

LUDC: We are so excited about these new appliances. While we haven’t seen the 48” range in person, the photos are absolutely gorgeous! So, it was an easy decision for us to collaborate again. Your team is committed to sourcing the highest quality, leading edge materials. What made you want to get involved with the Mountain Lane Show House and what are you looking forward to most about working on this project?

M: We absolutely love working with Laura, she’s authentic, approachable, and a ton of fun. Her team brings a level of creativity, innovation, and sophistication to luxury that inspires you to bring to life in your own home. We were honored to see the mood boards early on and can’t wait for everyone else to see the final product, it’s going to be a magical home in the mountains.

LUDC: It’s always a team effort when it comes to the show house. And we recruited our team at LUDC very early on. The home itself hasn’t been renovated since being built in the mid-90's. Gina Elkins, our Creative Director, and our architectural team have been working through the renovation since late last year. We’re now ready for the interiors side of the project to begin, where we select all the furnishings, finishes, and the special touches that make a house a home. What is the process you recommend for selecting the right appliances for a room, such as a kitchen or utility room?

M: It’s important for homeowners to take their lifestyle and daily activities into consideration when selecting appliances. Laura has two young daughters, for example. What does a busy weekday morning look like? How do they like to make breakfast or Wednesday dinner? We know that Michael (Laura’s husband) loves to roast vegetables quickly in the Advantium. And we know Laura loves to entertain. All of that goes into every appliance decision we help the owner make. Once you understand how you use your space, you will be able to look at the features available and make the best selections for your family.

LUDC: Yes – Michael loved that Advantium! And that’s a good point because during the pandemic we found that so many of our clients were cooking every meal at home. And even with restrictions lifting, our clients are looking for exceptionally functional kitchens that can do it all. Do you have any advice for people wanting to install high-performance appliances in their home?
